Frequently Asked Questions

> About ADA

Which compiler is required for GDS Compiler?

GDS Compiler is based on GNAT, a GNU ADA Compiler. We selected GNAT because it is the most common ADA compiler. It is maintained through the GNU community which offers support and newsgroups and also supplies libraries and packages.

GNAT is more than a compiler: users can extend GNAT for free with an ADA debugger, a code coverage tool. Its presentation and use are identical to the common C/C++/Java tools: user are in a known world.
