Catalogue of Power Management

Upstream Offering*
adequate solutions are proposed depending on the power source(s)

BC-Li-UCS / BC-Li-STD – Battery Chargers for Lithium-Ion Batteries

  • Compliant with the standard for UCS chargers (BC-Li-UCS)
  • Dual USB/Wall Adapter power-source input (BC-Li-STD)
  • High input voltage (up to 5.5 V) tolerant using standard 3.3V transistors
  • Defect mode available to detect any failure in the battery during the charge time
  • Extension available to manage supply to the SoC while charging - PSS (Power Source Selection)

eSR – efficient Switching Regulators

  • Efficiency above 90% between around Imax
  • High efficiency at low load constant switching frequency, without resorting to PFM
  • 5% output voltage accuracy
  • Area optimized for the required load
  • Embedded Power Pad with ESD protection

nSR – noise-resilient Switching Regulators

  • Excellent conversion efficiency: average of 80% (dependent on voltage conversion ratio)
  • Low power through multimode controller with sleep mode
  • BoM optimization thanks to a design without inductor.
  • Area optimized for the required load
  • Suitable for noise-sensitive applications: low output ripple at fixed frequency

Downstream Offering**
regulators adapted to the supplied load(s)

CODEC, Memories, logic cores etc. These regulators can be reused several times, as a standard Virtual Component (Vic) or they may be configured to fit the customers’ needs.

LR – Linear Regulators - LR

  • LRL – regulators to supply logic blocks
  • LRA – regulators to supply analog loads
  • Low BoM: Capacitor-less in some applications
  • Low-noise and ultra low-noise available
  • Area optimized for the required load
  • Dual voltage for Islet Design

*Upstream: Concerns all the custom features (internal or external to the SoC) directly linked to the power source(s).
**Downstream: Concerns all the standard features directly linked to consuming elements (loads) of the SoC.
