MEDAL MEDAL stands for “Missing EDA Links” as a strategic Product Line of Dolphin Integration in expectation that the needs of Mixed Signal Providers would not be properly addressed by mainstream EDA Suppliers. Gathered in the late 80s, the MEDAL team aimed from the start at breaking the language barriers which handicap designers, so the promotion of SMASH as multi-lingual was natural for the first mixed-signal single kernel simulator. The twist remains that most users hearing “analog and mixed-signal” do not understand it as meaning fully “logic and mixed signal”: quite significant difference while SMASH includes the most complete VHDL-AMS implementation on the market.
Over the years, MEDAL has extended its range of solutions with Iterator SHAKER, Schematics Entry SLED, and power-consumption Evaluator SCROOGE.

xilinx

Xilinx® leads the Programmable Logic Device (PLD) market - one of the fastest growing segments of the semiconductor industry. This market features a revolutionary technology called the field programmable gate array (FPGA) that our company pioneered in 1984. Xilinx is the world's leading supplier of programmable logic solutions. We supply customers with "off-the-shelf" logic devices that customers can program to perform specific functions using the development tools we provide. This programmability provides a revolutionary alternative to fixed or custom logic devices that typically require many months to design, test, and manufacture. Xilinx customers enjoy the benefit of faster time-to-market and increased product design flexibility as a result.
