iLR-2.6∼5.5-1.2∼3.3-RET Linear regulator
Preliminary
Ultra Low Quiescent |
Linear regulator |
Regulators are embedded in battery-operated portable devices with a main challenge: contributing in extending further the battery life cycle by reducing the overall power consumption and reducing BOM costs. This linear regulator enables retention (RET) mode in logic islets thanks to its ultra low quiescent current. This regulator can either be used alone or in parallel with another regulator. In the latter, an activity control unit (ACU) is required to coordinate the iLR with the other regulator. When the other regulator is in normal mode, the iLR-RET output is high impedance; when the other regulator is deactivated, the iLR-RET output is regulated.
With an output voltage range from 1.2 V to 3.3 V, the iLR-RET can fit retention applications in most technological processes.
Key benefits
Very low quiescent and leakage for Low-Power
- - Retention capability enables optimization of the power consumption depending on the modes and needs of the SoC.
Low Bill-of-Material:
- Supports external capacitor if required by the system
Protected Output
- Over temperature protection
- Soft-start: function that limits the in-rush current at startup to the device being powered and avoid the stress on circuit components
RECOMMENDED WITH
• Logic Loads and Islets
• SESAME Libraries
