Financial Information: The Stock-Picking Corner
The tastevin is
a small container in the shape of low cup (10 to 12 centimeters
in diameter) used to examine wine, to taste it and to observe its
look (dress). In XVIII-th century France, each province produced
its own model of cup which enabled the trader to choose his wine
well. This object was and is still today preferably in metal (money,
silver plated metal or tin) for better reflecting the dress.
It is not a long way from the test of wine to that of risk in capital
investment: as seen in venture-capital!
The word tastevin is also given to whom puts it to use.
